A tribute to the Guajajara, an indigenous group of northern Brazil that was formed to protect the Amazon forest, an Amazonian project in itself! This tribal member has a face sculpted with stone clay and painted with metallic watercolors. His paper doll body with reposition-able limbs is made with a variety of papers (I realize there are no elephants in the Amazon, but this paper just worked for me!!) adhered to an illustration-type board. Embellishments include unique gold fringe, feathers and odd shaped wooden findings.
